Building Financial Confidence in Liverpool's Young People

Since 2018, we've been teaching children and teenagers the money skills schools don't cover.

How We Started

Our founder, Rachel Thompson, taught secondary school maths in Liverpool for twelve years. She noticed something troubling: students could solve complex equations but couldn't calculate the real cost of a mobile phone contract.

After seeing former students struggle with debt and poor financial decisions, Rachel developed a programme that made financial education practical, engaging, and age-appropriate.

What began as weekend workshops in community centres has grown into a comprehensive education service trusted by hundreds of Liverpool families.

Education

What We Believe

Practical Over Theoretical

Real scenarios beat abstract concepts. We use shopping trips, allowance planning, and actual Liverpool prices in our teaching.

No Child Too Young

Financial habits form early. Even seven-year-olds can grasp saving, spending choices, and goal-setting when taught properly.

Parents as Partners

Learning sticks when it continues at home. We equip parents with tools to reinforce lessons in daily life.

Local Focus

Liverpool families face Liverpool circumstances. Our curriculum reflects the real economic environment of our city.

How We Teach Differently

Interactive Activities

Market simulations, budgeting games, role-play scenarios. Children learn by doing, not listening to lectures.

Age-Appropriate Content

Seven-year-olds learn through coin recognition games. Sixteen-year-olds work on student loan calculations. Content matches development stage.

Small Group Sizes

Maximum twelve students per session ensures personal attention and space for questions.

Follow-Up Resources

Every participant receives workbooks, digital tools, and ongoing support materials to continue learning at home.

Real-World Connection

We visit local markets, discuss Liverpool employers, and use examples from shops children actually visit.

Progress Tracking

Parents receive updates on what their child learned and practical suggestions for reinforcing skills at home.
